‘Tis the Season at Brébeuf
By Julia DiBerardo, Aikisha Beckwith, Natasha Ward and Carly Esposto (Grade 12)
The Christmas season is famous for its spirit of giving and charity; it is a time for family gatherings, happiness all around and overall embracing love. At St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School, we cherish all these qualities and we show this by participating in the Christmas Basket Campaign. We donate them to families that are less fortunate so that these families have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season. In these Christmas baskets, the less fortunate are not only receiving toys and supplies, but they receive the love from every SJB student.
Every year, each first period class is given a family to provide for. We are given the task of determining gifts for the children and for the parents themselves. The students work hard and put their heart and soul into making each and every basket perfect.  From a huggable Build-a-Bear, to something soft to wear, gift cards and some money to spare, even video games to play, all these things and more they will open on Christmas Day!
We, the Braves, feel that being involved in the making of these baskets is our way of reaching out to the community. Though we do not have the pleasure of seeing smiling faces upon the delivery of these baskets, just knowing we are a part of something so special truly makes what we do worthwhile.
This is the true meaning of a Brave’s Christmas!
